KEH — one of the largest used camera retailers in the United States — published a list of their most sold used cameras of 2020. It makes for interesting reading, and it's a reasonable proxy for what the used market valued that year.
Here's the KEH top 10, with links to search for each camera on UsedLens:
- Sony Alpha A6000
- Canon EOS 5D Mark III
- Nikon D750
- Canon EOS 5D Mark II
- Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
- Fujifilm X-T2
- Canon EOS 7D
- Nikon D90
- Nikon D810
- Sony Alpha A7 III
The list skews toward value-for-money bodies — the 5D Mark III and D750 in particular represent a sweet spot of capability and price that the used market keeps returning to. The A6000's presence at number one reflects both its price point and Sony's growing user base.
I'd love to produce a UK-specific equivalent from UsedLens data — the challenge is that without consistent product identifiers across retailers, grouping sales by model is harder than it sounds. Something to work towards.
